Biography

Shelby J. Wagner, author of the award-winning memoir/self-help book, "Learning to Dance in the Rain - Surviving Grief, Internet Dating and Romance Scams,"  and three other books written to help people improve the quality of their lives. 
Mingled with provocative suggestions to help readers assess their options for their future and tips to empower them to protect themselves from financial and emotional harm, are narratives of her own personal experiences. She is a captivating story-teller.
"Learning to Dance in the Rain" won nine literary awards in 2021-2022, including a Silver Medal in the Living Now Book Awards and a Finalist in the "Book of the Year" Awards by the Independent Authors Network.
"Learning to Dance in the Rain" inspired an offer from Talk4 Media for Wagner to host a W4CY Radio/Television Talk Show of the same title. Its 72 episodes are now available as a Podcast on Audible.com and her YouTube Channel.
Wagner holds a master's degree in education from Michigan State University, and two bachelor degrees from Oakland University, one of them as a member of its Charter Class. 
Wagner has been a lifelong church organist/pianist and/or choir director. Her bio may be found in the prestigious Marquis' Who's Who in the Midwest (1990-1991 Edition) and the Marquis' Who's Who in America (2023-2024 Edition)
Wagner's other interests include dancing, gardening, and  playing cards, with her grandson and friends.
